Statement to our Clients and A&D Professionals regarding new furniture tariff.
As you undoubtedly have heard, the United States government began imposing a 10% tariff on all China-sourced furniture and component parts entering the United States.
At Western we wanted to update you on the anticipated effects this tariff may cause, and what this will mean to you as a client.
The tariff is not expected to impact Knoll pricing since the bulk of Knoll products are manufactured in North America and Europe, with limited components sourced from China. Today’s current Knoll pricing is not expected to change for the remainder of this year.
The tariff is expected to possibly affect pricing to a certain number of our “Open Line” manufacturers producing products or components in China. Each manufacturer will decide what impact if any this tariff will have on their pricing structure. However, at Western we’ve taken steps to help minimize the impact on your business by identifying alternatives from our partners that manufacture domestically or in Europe, thus not impacted by this tariff.
As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
