The Opportunity

We currently see a full-time Ancillary Pricing Specialist in our Los Angeles location. In this role, you will partner with Business Developers and Project Managers to provide pricing of non-Knoll ancillary commercial furniture for projects, proposals and bids. Liaison with manufacturers/vendors to develop relationships and manage the day to day relationships with vendor representatives. The position provides the opportunity to learn about several aspects of our business.

Position Responsibilities
  • Prepare ancillary pricing specifications in CAP 20/20
  • Work with manufacturers to obtain quotes that include pricing, discounts, lead times, and freight cost
  • Verify manufacturer/vendor quotes to what is being specified and address any discrepancies
  • Assist in the development of proposal/bid responses for ancillary furniture including gathering images, warranty, and any additional information requested if time allows                
  • Count quantities on a plan and add any discrepancies between plan and spec sheets
  • Organize and save all back-up information in job file for future reference
  • Create a list of exceptions and clarifications regarding product specifications that cannot be met exactly as written and specifications that differ from plan
  • Manage My Resource Library rep contact information, discounts, and freight terms
  • Maintain ancillary product knowledge

 Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Product selection and specification development for ancillary (non-Knoll) furniture (excluding systems/ workstations, or complex conference tables)
  • Schedule vendor presentations and mobile showroom tours
  • Provide alternatives to client needs such as lower-cost options, quick-ship, etc.  
  • Update and manage internal resources such as price list, warranty, and quick-ship programs
  • Work with the marketing team to create look book inspiration ideas for business developers
  • Create and manage a system that stores all ancillary research for future reference
  • Visit local showrooms to become more familiar with the product, meet local manufacture reps, and compare the product quality
  • Other special projects based on a specific scope of work
Position Requirements
  • Education: 4-year degree required
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of business experience
  • Knowledge of My Resource Library and Cap 20/20 a plus
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills
  • Well-spoken and presents well as a representative of the company's professional brand
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must be highly organized, action-oriented and collaborative
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Efficient and accurate
  • Detail-oriented and conscientious
