This year’s 2018 NeoCon showroom demonstrated the power of bringing together Knoll’s constellation of design-driven brands in an Immersive workplace planning solution for commercial, healthcare, and education spaces.
The showroom called “Hospitality at Work” highlighted Knoll’s ability to create flexible, comfortable work environments with the residential influence in five themed spaces: Welcoming Environments, User-Directed Experiences, Flexible Solutions, Material Variety and Residential Aesthetic.
The showroom, featured product from Knoll’s latest acquisition, Muuto, integrated with more traditional office furniture solutions. The Muuto product provides a wide range of SKUs, including everything from lighting to contract quality upholstery. As Andrew Cogan alluded to at the time of the acquisition, the Muuto product aesthetically fits into the current Knoll brands. Notable product introductions from knoll include a new task chair Ollo, the Newson Aluminum Chair, and a new collection of desktop accessories called the Beller collection. Additionally, the Rockwell Unscripted™ brand introduced product enhancements, including the Creative Wall enclosures private workspace, the Sawhorse Workbench, and 120 degree rounded adjustable tables Antenna Telescope.
Next year, after more than 30 years at the Merchandise Mart, Knoll will show at Fulton Market. Knoll is the first of the majors to move away from the Merchandise Mart. It will be interesting to see if and when others move, now that Knoll has “broken the ice.”
